UK Universities Are Modernising Fast. Is Your Workday Tenant Ready for What Comes Next?

UK higher education is in the middle of a significant technology transition. The University of York selected Workday HCM and Financial Management in December 2025, following the University of Hull's go-live in summer 2025 both implemented with KPMG. The University of Exeter, Regent's University London, and others are already live. In the UK higher education HR system market, Workday has moved from sixth place to third place between 2022 and 2025, and now powers 11.4% of active HR implementations. Among institutions with 30,000 or more students, it has reached 15% penetration a number expected to rise.
